Under the influence of UV or sunlight Reversacol Photochromic dyes change from colourless to coloured. Once the source of UV has been removed the dye will then fade back to colourless. Typical applications include novelties such as plastic toys and packaging, eye catching inks and coatings forapparel as well as films and laminates for marketing and promotional materials. The dyes can also be used for security authentication applications.
Reversacol Photochromic dyes can be used in combination with each other to widen the colour palette, however, each dye fades back to colourless at a different rate and so multi-tonal effects may occur. Reversacol dyes can also be combined with other special effect pigments such as pearlescent and metallic pigments to provide an effective enhancement for many different substrates (plastics, inks etc).
